Istanbul Digital Invitation: Maps, RSVP and QR Photo Sharing

In Istanbul, the hardest part of a wedding is often not the venue but getting guests there. Two continents, bridge traffic and ferry timetables mean a one-line address on a printed card is rarely enough. With a digital invitation, guests tap the link, open the venue on the map and get directions from wherever they are.

Wedding areas in Istanbul and what to tell guests

Weddings in Istanbul cluster in a few areas, and each has its own practical note worth adding to the invitation:

Bosphorus waterfront

Hotels and historic waterside mansions between Bebek, Kuruçeşme, Tarabya and Yeniköy are the city's most sought-after wedding addresses. Parking is limited at most of them, so tell guests whether valet parking is available.

Asian shore

Venues around Çengelköy, Kandilli and Beykoz feel calmer. Guests coming from the European side will appreciate a note on which bridge to use or the nearest ferry pier.

Forest and garden venues

Garden weddings towards Zekeriyaköy, Kilyos and Şile escape the city noise but are hard to reach by public transport. If you arrange a shuttle, add the pick-up point and time to the invitation.

Hotel ballrooms

Ballrooms in Şişli, Levent and Ataşehir are close to the metro, which makes them practical for large guest lists.

Travel tips for guests coming to Istanbul

For guests flying in, the difference between Istanbul Airport and Sabiha Gökçen matters: recommending the airport on the same side as your venue can save hours.

Bridge crossings are slow in the evening. A short line such as "guests crossing from the other side should set off at least an hour early" noticeably reduces late arrivals.

RSVP tracking for large guest lists

Istanbul guest lists often combine family, work and friends and easily reach several hundred people. Collecting RSVPs through the invitation instead of phoning everyone lets you give the venue a final headcount on time.

Favourite wedding photo spots in Istanbul

Some of the places couples in Istanbul often choose for their photo shoot:

  • Ortaköy Mosque and waterfront
  • Around Galata Tower
  • Emirgan Grove
  • Yıldız Park
  • Streets of Kuzguncuk
  • Colourful houses of Balat

On the wedding night you can also collect your guests' photos in one gallery with a QR code, so your photo-shoot pictures and guests' snapshots end up in the same archive.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add directions to a Bosphorus venue?

Once you enter the venue address, the invitation page shows a map link. Guests tap it, their phone's map app opens and they get directions from their own location. Add ferry or shuttle details as a note in the invitation text.
